Ao Ashi
Aoashi is about a young boy named Ashito Aoi from a small town in Japan. Ashito is deemed as a footballing genius in his small town. He seems to be very talented but during a crucial match for his team, he makes a mistake and it leads to their loss and elimination from a local tournament. Disappointing his teammates and the potential scout, Ashito believes his golden opportunity is long gone. However, a visitor from Tokyo notices Ashito’s abilities and he ends up meeting football coach Tatsuya Fukuda, who believes in him and invites him to join his team.
The series follows Ashito’s struggles of becoming a professional athlete, making sacrifices, and supporting his family. Some say that Aoashi is not your typical high school soccer anime and that it has a slow pace of character development. Others praise the series for its professional animation and say its story is based on some true experiences of athletes.
