জাপানের সম্রাট নারু হিতোর ভাই প্রিন্স ফুমি হিতোকে দেশটির সিংহাসনের পরবর্তী উত্তরসূরি হিসেবে মনোনয়ন দেয়া হয়েছে। রোববার টোকিওর এক বর্ণাঢ্য অনুষ্ঠানে এ ঘোষণা দেয়া হয় বলে জানিয়েছে রয়টার্স।
এবারের অনুষ্ঠানে রাজ পরিবারের সদস্যরা সহ আরও ৪৬ জন উপস্থিত ছিলেন। মাস্ক পরিহিত অবস্থায় সামাজিক দূরত্ব বজায় রেখে এতে অংশ নেন সবাই। সেখানেই আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে ছোটভাই ফুমি হিতোকে জাপানি নাগরিকদের ক্রাউন প্রিন্স হিসেবে ঘোষণা দেন সম্রাট। রাজপ্রথা অনুযায়ী সিংহাসনের পরবর্তী উত্তরাধিকারের হাতে একটি তলোয়ার তুলে দেয়া হয়। এ প্রসঙ্গে জাপানি প্রধানমন্ত্রী ইয়ো শিহিদে সুগা বলেন, জনগণ ক্রাউন প্রিন্স ও প্রিন্সেসদের আচরণে সন্তুষ্ট। ফলে নির্ধারিত সময়ের ৭ মাস পরে হলেও উত্তরাধিকার অনুষ্ঠানটি অনুষ্ঠিত হতে দেখে ভালো লাগছে বলে জানান তিনি।
