1971年 米国のシングル ヒットチャートで１位となった この曲は 米国のシンガーソングライター クリス クリストファーソンが 書いた。「ミー & ボビーマギー」のジャニス ジョプリン バージョンは、彼女の死後リリースされ、、アーティストの死後リリースされ No.1となった２番目の曲となる。最初の曲は オーティス・レディングの ドック オブ ザベイ。

“Me and Bobby McGee” is a song written by American singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson. A posthumously released version by Janis Joplin topped the U.S. singles chart in 1971, making the song the second posthumously released No. 1 single in U.S. chart history after “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding. Billboard ranked Joplin’s version as the ＃1 song for 1971.
Kristofferson become a successful solo artist and appear in several movies. But it was Janis Joplin’s hit cover of this song that brought his career to the next level. “‘Bobby McGee’ was the song that made the difference for me,” he told Performing Songwriter in 2015. “Every time I sing it, I still think of Janis.”
